VPOP3Protect 1.2

This program will work with any version of VPOP3, but the useful functionality is built into VPOP3 versions 3 or later, so it is generally not useful in recent versions of VPOP3, and itwill slow them down.

Protection Against Email Worms & Viruses

VPOP3PROTECT is a free utility which can be "plugged in" to VPOP3 to protect it against common email 'worms' and viruses.

VPOP3PROTECT is not a virus scanner, and should not be used to replace virus scanning on your network, but it can be used as a first line of defence against common viruses carried by email. The VPOP3PROTECT program checks the message subject and/or attachments for meaningful filenames and will send suspicious messages to a designated mailbox for manual checking.

Download VPOP3Protect free of charge.

The installation program will automatically insert VPOP3PROTECT into VPOP3 as an 'External Router' for VPOP3 versions 4 or earlier to scan all messages that VPOP3 downloads from ISP POP3 accounts. (In later versions of VPOP3 it needs to be manually configured in Settings -> Legacy Extensions.)

Currently VPOP3PROTECT checks for the following viruses (these are old viruses as VPOP3Protect hasn't been maintained for many years!):
